Collection Protocol Specifications:

A piece of human tissue prepared by a certified medical pathologist is submerged in 10% neutral-buffered formalin for 18 - 24 hours and embedded in IHC-grade paraffin. The target FFPE specimen size is 0.5 x 1 x 1 cm, but it can vary significantly depending on the nature of the disease and tissue type. The fixation agent and the embedding media can be customized upon request

Sample Projects (Archival FFPE Specimens):

Breast cancer: Her-2 positive metastatic breast cancer

Collection of Her-2 positive tumor tissue and a metastatic lesion (FFPE blocks) from treatment-naive breast cancer patients.
APPLICATION: Correlative target expression study.

Breast cancer: "aged" breast cancer FFPE blocks

Collection of FFPE tumor tissue procured at the same clinical center from past years.
APPLICATION: Investigation of "aged" FFPE tissue suitability for a specific assay.

Breast cancer: mutation-specific tumor FFPE blocks
Large-scale procurement of FFPE tumor tissues for selection of whose with mutated p53 gene.
APPLICATION: diagnostic test development and validation.
