Tumor Tissues and Solid Cancer Biofluids

Since its inception, the primary focus area of our company has been oncology. Every year we expand our procurement network to include new clinical and research centers around the world in order to collect genetically-diverse human tumor specimens, including frozen tumor, tumor FFPE and matching blood products. Currently we manage human tumor tissue acquisition projects in the USA, Eastern and Southern Europe, China, India, Argentina, Peru, and the Philippines.

Biosample Collection and Research Services

Cureline's team works closely with principal investigators and project managers on developing custom protocols for feasibility studies and tumor specimen acquisition projects. Standard acquisition protocols for the collection of clinically defined biospecimens include the following cancer types:

  • Breast carcinoma (invasive ductal & lobular, in situ, medullary)
  • Colorectal carcinoma (CRC) and polyps
  • Prostate adenocarcinoma and hyperplasia of prostate
  • Ovarian carcinoma and benign conditions
  • Pancreatic adenocarcinoma
  • Non-small cell lung carcinoma (including K-ras, EGFR status)
  • Melanoma (including B-raf status)
  • Renal Cell Carcinoma
  • Brain tumors (glioblastoma, astrocytoma, medulloblastoma, etc.)
  • Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (diffuse large B-cell, follicular, other types)

Cureline also collects samples from urinary bladder carcinoma, head & neck carcinoma, thyroid tumors, soft tissue sarcomas, small cell lung cancer and many other tumor types.

Research Services

Cureline provides research-related services utilizing specimens from patients with solid tumors, including:

  • 3-D histoculture on> fresh tumor tissue

Examples of Recent Projects

APPLICATION: Correlative target Human RNA , DNA Panels">expression analysis (RNA, protein, IHC analysis)

  • Various cancer types: Collection of tumor tissue and adjacent normal tissue specimens (frozen and FFPE), matching cancer serum and cancer blood samples
  • Prostate adenocarcinoma: Collection of surgical prostate carcinoma specimens including tumor tissue (frozen and FFPE) and matching cancer serum samples with extensive clinical information for each patient

Colorectal cancer: Collection of primary tumor tissue and metastatic lesions with extensive clinical information for each patient

APPLICATION: Biomarker correlative studies

  • Breast cancer: Collection of several hundred cases including human tumor tissue (frozen and FFPE) and matching cancer serum samples with extensive clinical information for each patient. An extensive tissue panel with a complete type and disease stage representation was developed
  • Lymphoma (NHL) - follicular, mantle cell and large B-cell types:
Collection of tumor tissue (snap-frozen and FFPE samples) from malignant lymph nodes of lymphoma patients and matching cancer serum, cancer plasma and PBMCs samples
  • Ovarian cancer: Collection of a large-scale panel with various stages of ovarian adenocarcinoma cases including tumor tissue (frozen and FFPE) and matching cancer serum samples with extensive clinical information for each patient

APPLICATION: Biomarker / target expression correlation with clinical outcome data

  • Colorectal cancer: Collection of CRC tumor tissues (matching snap-frozen and FFPE) with clinical outcome information for each patient (5 - 10 years follow up)
  • Breast carcinoma: Collection of breast carcinoma tumor tissues and local LNs (FFPE blocks) with clinical outcome information for each patient (5 - 10 years follow up)

APPLICATION: Target /biomarker Human RNA, DNA Panels expression analysis from FFPE tumor tissues

  • Glioblastoma, Head&Neck carcinoma, Medulloblastoma, Ewing's sarcoma: Development of a panel of human tumor FFPE tissues suitable for RNA expression profiling. The IHC studies were performed on the same tissues to validate the results
