Cureline can now successfully perform MSC (mesenchymal stem cell) primary cultures.

MSCs constitute no more than 0.01-0.001% of bone marrow (BM) cells, yet the cells play a major role in many biological processes. Adult MSCs are able to self-renew and differentiate into many specialized cell types (including adipocytes, muscle cells, bone and cartilage tissue cells and neurons) and provide vital support to hemotopoetic stem cells (HSCs) in the BM niche.

MSCs could be purified from BM by the successive application of gradient separation and adhesion assay, then cultured in vitro in the refined conditions. Being expanded, harvested and frozen using FF or viable cell protocols, MSCs could then be used for a number of downstream applications. In particular, studying MSCs derived from BM of patients with Drug Discovery Needs Your Tissues">Human Tissue Research Services">hematological malignancies could be important for uncovering mechanisms underlying blast cell proliferation and drug resistance.
